Project Description
Rope designs set on leather are so stylish! Danielle shows you how to weave this necklace and matching bracelet using seed beads, peyote stitch and leather cord. This project is a great introduction to 2-drop peyote stitch!
The piece comes together so nicely, beginning with a flat-stitch design that we zipper stitch into a rope over the leather (or any medium of choice).
A multi-drop peyote, 2-1 drop with 11/0 seed beads, is used to create this stunning design. Work with any combination of color, or follow our recipe of four analogous colors with one metallic or high-contrast pop.
Materials Needed
- Size 11/0 seed beads – 5 grams each color:
- Color A: 11-5104 Duracoat Galvanized Champagne
- Color B: 11-4491 Duracoat Opaque Spanish Olive
- Color C: 11-4474 Duracoat Opaque Cactus
- Color D: 11-2008 Matte Metallic Patina Iris
- Color E: 11-4481 Duracoat Opaque Eucalyptus
- TierraCast Toggle clasp
- 1.5mm leather – desired length plus 4 to 6 inches
TOOLS & THREAD
- Size B beading thread, such as One-G
- Size 11 or 12 beading needle
- Scissors
- Cocktail straw (for barrel knots)
